Consent in the Lietvia Galaxy Series

I’ve gotten questions from prospective readers requesting clarification on the content warnings on my two books, Ahelno and A.I. Human, specifically regarding dubcon ("dubious consent") & noncon ("nonconsent" or "nonconsensual sex"). Please read these warnings carefully, and feel free to reach out to me if you have any further questions.

Ahelno

SA/Noncon

Ahelno features an on-page scene of sexual assault between the main characters. Andie, the female main character, does not consent, and it is a brutal experience for her, which causes significant trauma. Much of the book is focused on her emotional healing journey from the rape. What makes this book different from other dark romances is that the main male character, Dakleth, believes that she did consent, for reasons that are revealed in the book. He later discovers his error and feels tremendous guilt and shame for what he did to her. Regardless, her trauma is never downplayed, and the topic is treated seriously and not glorified in any way.

A.I. Human

Dubcon/Noncon

Technology is sufficiently advanced in the Lietvia Galaxy so that it is difficult to distinguish androids from living beings. The trio of aliens at the heart of this reverse harem story have never seen a human before, so they believe the shady dealer who sells them Lyssa under the pretense that she is a companion android. 

For reasons revealed in the book, Lyssa determines it is in her best interest to play along. While she does hesitate at times, she allows them to engage in sexual relations with her while she bides her time planning her escape. Although her consent is given under duress, she does not regret her choices, and does not find the experiences traumatizing. Depending on your point of view regarding consent under duress in romance novels, this could be considered dubcon, consensual nonconsent, or nonconsent. (Note - In the real world, this would still be considered nonconsent, of course.)

The dubcon/noncon scenes are in chapters three and four. However, I do not recommend skipping them as there are other significant plot points that occur in those chapters.
